DR EMILE COETZEE
Dr. Emile Coetzee was born in Pretoria and completed schooling at Grey College in
Bloemfontein. He obtained the degree MBCHB from the University of Pretoria and specialised in general surgery at the University of Cape Town. He joined the Colorectal Surgery Unit were he completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery and surgical gastroenterology. He became the 3rd candidate in South Africa to obtain the certificate in surgical gastroenterology as a colorectal surgeon.
After completing the fellowship, he was appointed as consultant in the Colorectal Unit at Groote Schuur Hospital, where he established a dedicated intestinal failure unit, the only dedicated referral unit for patients with intestinal failure in South Africa.
In 2012, he was awarded the SASES/Covidien travelling fellowship and completed a laparoscopic colorectal fellowship under Professor Willem Bemelman at the Academisch Medisch Centrum, Amsterdam. He also visited the University Hospital in Leuven where Professor Andre D’Hoore heads the unit.
His special interests include laparoscopic colorectal surgery, inflammatory bowel diseases, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, intestinal failure and nutrition. He offers a full colorectal surgery and pelvic floor service. He prides himself in regular auditing of his own practice, ensuring that his results are in keeping with international standards.
He has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented research at several national and international congresses.
Candice Coetzee was born in Uitenhage and completed her schooling at Uitenhage High School. She continued her tertiary studies at Port Elizabeth Technicon(now part of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Universities) where she obtained her National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography in 2005.
She started her career as a Diagnostic Radiographer at Frere Hospital in East London. She also worked at Tygerberg Hospital and Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town before entering into the private sector.
In 2010 she obtained her B.Tech degree in Diagnostic Radiography from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. While working as a radiographer, she continued her studies at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Business School, obtaining a Postgraduate Degree in Business Administration in 2015.

SR SANELLE BOTHA
Sr Sanelle Botha was born in Port Elizabeth and completed her schooling at Framesby High School. She continued her tertiary studies at Sharley Cribb Nursing College where she obtained her Diploma in Nursing in 1994.
She started her career as a Registered Nurse at the Provincial Hospital in Port Elizabeth and was given the opportunity in 2000 to further her studies in Stomatherapy at Grootte Schuur and Red Cross Hospital in Cape Town.
She returned to the Provincial Hospital and managed the Stomatherapy Department until 2004. In 2005 she registered her own practice as a Private Nurse Practitioner and specializes in Stomatherapy and Wound Care.
